CARVING GUIDELINES

 

  1. All Classes, all Categories.

    1. All carvings must be the sole work of the entrant. It is strongly recommended that all carvings be signed & dated. (However, this should be covered with tape for anonymity).

    2. All carvings must have been completed within the last 12 months, January 2011 to January 2012.

    3. Entries from Previous CWC years are prohibited

    4. All entries must be made of wood. Except for Category 20 see Category Clarifications below

    5. Glass eyes are accepted.

    6. Other materials may be used as functionally required.
      i.e.. Hinges, hasps, drawer pulls, cane tips, etc.

    7. Where a Wildfowl size is specified, that dimension shall be measured from the base of the Bill to the end of the Body (Pygostyle) using a tape measure. (Done this way at World's 2007).

  2. OPEN CLASS

    1. Other materials may be used for habitat, bases, and structural purposes but must be hand formed.

    2. The use of real rocks, uncarved driftwood, etc. is NOT accepted.

  3. INTERMEDIATE CLASS

    1. Other materials may be used for habitat, bases, and structural purposes but must be hand formed.

    2. The use of real rocks, un-carved driftwood, etc. (for habitat or bases) is discouraged.

  4. NOVICE CLASS & YOUTH

    1. Other materials may be used for habitat, bases, and structural purposes.
      i.e. pewter feet, driftwood, etc.
